The Onchain Record — Tracking the people, platforms and protocols moving markets, money and culture onto blockchain rails.

Welcome to The Onchain Record.

For months, I have argued that stablecoins would be the Trojan horse that brings the masses into crypto.

That thesis is playing out—but the story has become much bigger than stablecoins.

Money is moving onchain. Markets are moving onchain. And increasingly, culture is moving onchain with them.

The Onchain Record follows that transformation: stablecoins, tokenized stocks and real-world assets, blockchain-based markets, AI agents, exchanges building their own chains, NFTs and digital ownership, regulation, and the emerging cultural economies forming around this new infrastructure.

I’m Carlo D’Angelo, a lawyer with nearly 30 years of experience, former law professor, founder of Stablecoin Solutions, and host of Onchain Radio.

My work sits at the intersection of law, financial markets, blockchain technology and the culture developing around them. I have spent years studying stablecoins and digital-asset regulation, including how legislation such as the GENIUS Act is reshaping payments and financial infrastructure.

But stablecoins were never the destination.

They were the onboarding mechanism.

Once dollars become native to blockchain rails, the assets and markets that interact with those dollars can move there too: securities, funds, credit, commodities, compute, collectibles and entirely new forms of digitally native ownership.

Artificial intelligence accelerates that transition. AI agents increasingly need machine-readable assets, programmable payments and always-on settlement. BlackRock recently described this convergence as the emergence of a “machine-native economy”—machine-native intelligence interacting with machine-native money and programmable assets.

I think there is another layer to that story: culture.

Creators, communities, memes, NFTs, identity and attention are increasingly interacting with the same financial rails being built for stablecoins and tokenized markets.

That convergence is what The Onchain Record exists to document.

Onchain Radio is the live companion to the publication—following these developments in real time through commentary, reporting, interviews and conversations with the builders and communities creating the onchain economy.

The thesis is simple:

Stablecoins are the Trojan horse.
The onchain economy is what comes through the gates.
